Joel Gostomelsky is a native Chicagoan, growing up on the north side of Chicago before moving to the west side while working on his pharmacy degree. Joel received his B.S. at the University of Illinois in Campaign, and he received his pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago.
Joel worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 30 years and had a variety of hospital pharmacy management positions until he became the director of Emergency Pharmacy Services in 1996, where he managed the U.S. stockpiles of pharmaceuticals to be used in the response to chemical and biological terrorism. In 2000 Joel became the director of the VA prescription mail-out center in Chicago, where he used his expertise in automation to achieve the processing of 70,000 patient orders per day. After his career in the VA, Joel started his own pharmacy-automation consulting firm before coming to help Dr. Gostomelsky with her growing audiology practice in 2008.
Joel and Sheri moved to Deerfield in 1987 to raise their family of two daughters: Amy, who is a special education teacher in downstate Illinois, and Rachel, who is a pastry chef in Chicago.
Joel enjoys cooking, searching for antiques, coin collecting, and is an avid music collector.
